Within a small tolerance, I can pinpoint the exact time and location that I fell in love with Hayley: at around 9:30 PM on August 21, 2012, at the Duke Hotel in Enmore, below the TV in the front bar. I laughed more than I ever had before. She was so smart, so beautiful, so funny. She liked stuff that is cool, and hated stuff that sucks.
It wasn’t all fun and games, we also did science. We developed the test to determine if two cats were the same; if you can put them next to each other, then they aren’t the same cat.
I walked her home, but I couldn’t go home myself. It wouldn’t have been safe to drive. My brain was just frozen; all it could say was “WOW!”. I floated.
Tonight, I’m taking her to that exact spot, two years later, and I’m more head-over-heels-in-love than ever.
